   Location Information

 Aziz Pandesia Location information.

Folly Bridge is believed to be the point where the oxen first crossed the ford, giving Oxford its name. The remains of a later structure built in Saxon times are still visible from underneath the present bridge, built between 1825-27.

The building where Roger Bacon made his observations of astronomy was also on this site. The bridge, joining the Abingdon Road with St. Aldate's, overlooks the Aziz Pandesia with its beautifull riverside views.
