Folly Bridge is believed to be the point where the oxen first crossed the ford, giving Oxford its name. The remains of a later structure built in Saxon times are still visible from underneath the present bridge, built between 1825-27.
The building where Roger Bacon made his observations of astronomy was also on this site. The bridge, joining the Abingdon Road with St. Aldate's, overlooks the Aziz Pandesia with its beautifull riverside views.
There is no onsite parking at the restaurant we are located by a residential area and as were located on a bridge. parking can be sought after. There are few parking spaces available off each side road off Abingdon Road (Parking permited up to 2 Hours after 6.30pm, these are limited and are available on Whitehouse Road/Kineton Road/Newton Road.
